Our Mission

Here at Stark Mountain Shepherds, our mission is to breed high-quality working-line German Shepherds. We breed only physically fit and mentally sound adults to ensure a healthy and solid GSD bloodline that results in a long, healthy life. We believe that at the end of the day, it's about the quality of the dog, not the header of the paperwork. A healthy, sound GSD without all the frills and registrations that have given the breed a bad name. Our adults are all hand-picked to be level-headed and not overly aggressive, with an extremely high level of intelligence. With flat backs and a strong build, you won't find any frogs here. Our bread and butter is to raise family dogs. Dogs that are gentle with the littles in your life, that can be trusted by the mailman, yet will protect their family (that's you) if a threat arises. 

Many of our puppies have gone on to professional training in their new homes. The results and feedback from trainers have always been phenomenal; some of the smartest, nicest, and most easily trained dogs they have encountered. When asked what our GSD's are capable of, my answer is simply, anything you're willing to train them for.
